Our story begins with a car driving down a dirt road near the jungle. There are five figures inside it. The one driving was a blue rectangle figure with a dark blue nose and a serious expression with a unibrow and wore a small green hat. He was known as Mr. Grumpy. Sitting up front next to him is a round blue  creature wearing only bandages around his head and body. This was Mr. Bump.

And sitting in the back were three kids.

The first was an African-American girl with black curly hair tied with a yellow scrunchie in a bun. She wore a yellow shirt, an orange scrunchie on her wrist and a blue skirt. Her name was Jackie.

The second was a red haired boy wearing a lime green turtleneck, an orange vest and blue jeans. He was Matt.

The last one was the youngest. She was a Hispanic girl with brown hair and eyes. She wore square glasses, a pink shirt with a star, a purple vest and blue-green shorts. By name Inez.

"Too cool a day in the new Happy World land!" she said delightedly.

"Yeah, but don't you think it's strange that Mr. Grumpy would agree to take us all the way out here and just a few months before summer?" questioned Jackie.

"He probably only agreed to it so he get away from everyone else and Dillydale just for while." replied Matt.

Mr. Bump sighs, "What was their first clue?"

"What about Mr. Bump?" asked Inez.

"He also agreed to chaperone when everybody else couldn't." Matt said casually.

"Yeah, well the sooner we get to the park, the sooner we can leave," Mr. Grumpy interrupted, then he took a quick glance around the area, "First thing's first, we'd better get out of this forest."

However, there was a loud bang that made them all jump, and the van suddenly careened into multiple bushes until it swerves to a stop in the middle of a large clearing.

Both Mr. men got out to inspect the damage – and it didn't look good.

Mr. Grumpy groaned, "Great, we're lost and in the middle of the jungle no less."

Matt took out his  squakpad, "We need serious input from the outside."

But he only got static. Inez, in the meantime, noticed something else in the clearing aide from themselves. " Hey, what's that house over there?"

"Looks like some kind of old ranch building or something." commented Jackie

"It was a place someone once lived and literally died there." Mr. Grumpy snapped.

Mr. Bump took one quick glance and yelped. "Poopity poop. I knew there was something wrong about this place. Oh, let's get out of here."

"But you've all just got here."

The gang jumped at the voice and spun around.

There, sitting on the remains of the building walls, was a man. He was in his thirties, short sandy brown hair, wore a white suit, very light grey pants and a mysterious smile.

"Who are you?" asked Jackie.

"My name is Adam and you are all looking at what once used to be the Triton family household."

"The Tritons? Who were they?" the kids all asked.

"Wait, you've never heard the sad, tragic tale of the Triton family's destruction?" questioned Mr. Bump.

The three kids looked at each other quizzically, and said blankly, "No."

Adam stood up. "Well I suppose I might as well tell you all what truly happened that terrible night."

As the gang gathered round, Mr. Grumpy looks towards the direction of the audience. "For some reason, I feel like I'm in a story and a very long one at that."

Once he was sure that they'd made themselves comfortable, Adam begins to narrate "It begins on a dark night…"

                      Flashback

Many years ago, right here on the very same clearing, there was an ambush upon the Triton home.

The house was set on fire and everyone who lived there were sent running outside, only to meet their deaths at the hands of various armed men and frightening shadowy creatures.

A hate-filled voice, a deep rough one with a thick oriental accent snarled, "All of the Tritons will die. . . All of them!"

We see a pitch-black entity with flaming red brows and curling beard tower over the chaos, jeering.

Just about a few yards away in the dark jungle, a bearded man and a short woman watch the scene unfold before their horrified eyes.

At the same time, a man rushes out of the house holding a bundle in his strong arms. "Stop! Enough of this!"

He was an old one with long white hair and a beard. He had a trident and rich clothes. He was Triton, the owner of the household that was under attack.

Aku watched the man with pure unadulterated enmity. "You've stolen what belonged to me, Triton, now you will pay the price with your life!"

He struck once viciously and the sea king fell.

"No!"

A woman with long, reddish hair drawn back at the middle and showing her greenish eyes screamed. She rushed to her deceased husband when the blackness dissipated and briefly pulled the sheets from the bundle. Inside, we see it's a beautiful baby girl with blue eyes and blood-red hair that looked up at her mother curiously.

Slowly the woman stood up, looked around the decimation.

"You will pay for all the harm you've caused, Aku!" She shouted into the darkness, "One day you will pay!"

Although he wasn't able to see her face clearly, Aku heard her words perfectly well and didn't hesitate to give her the same fate as her dead husband.

The woman fell atop her husband's corpse with the baby starting to cry.

At the burning house's entrance, a little boy about five years of age emerges in a frightened daze. He was Asian, had dark hair and eyes and a solemn disposition.

When he saw the woman fall, his eyes grew wide with horror. Tears fell down his cheeks.

From above, a brief look of regret passed through Aku's hideous countenance after the woman died.

The boy ran for the forest and the ambushers chased him. One shadow minion grazes the child's back with fire, the boy cried out in pain, but he threw himself to the ground and put it out. Then the little boy hid under some low branches and watched the men search the area in vain. Finally they stopped searching, assuming that he wouldn't last long in the wilderness.

Back at the burning house, one of the men dismounted his horse and took the baby girl.

End flashback

The scene flashed back to the present with the gang looking serious.

"How horrible!" Jackie cried.

Matt protested, "Didn't anyone call the police or something?"

Mr. Grumpy put his hands on his hips, "And tell them what? That a giant shapeshifter was behind it? Who'd believe that? And need I remind you that the only few witnesses were the ones responsible and the kids. I doubt any of them will be coming forward any time soon."

"What happened to the kids?" Inez said earnestly, "The little boy and the baby?"

Adam became serious. "They survived. The boy left and started a new life but never forgot what happened that fateful night so he searches for clues and answers to it this very day."

Matt looked to Adam just as soberly, "What about the baby girl? What happened to her?"

"The little baby girl… is Ariel Of The Night."

"Ariel of the night???" The gang all asked; the kids in confusion and the two Mr. men with surprise– they weren't expecting that.

Again Adam's voice is heard voice over.

"For deep within the forest, in a secluded town, to the east of this old house, Aku raised the child as his own and this time, he was determined never to let this one leave."

All five spectators exchanged weirded-out glances. Then Mr. Grumpy spoke up, "You mean to tell me that the baby girl grew up with almost anything she could possibly desire – well according to the superficial minds – except for one important setback?"

"What setback?" frowned Jackie.

Mr. Grumpy became grim-faced (thought it was hard to tell as serious as he was). "That every man that ever dated or tried courting her died under mysterious circumstances."

The kids gasped.

"That's what also makes it all so scary." Mr. Bump groaned. "Now everybody in the town believes Ariel's cursed."

Inez who'd been listening intently spoke up, "Did anyone ever fid out why and how they died? If there was foul play maybe?"

At Inez' questions, Adams smiled warmly. "That's exactly what you're all going to find out."

They all exclaimed shocked responses. "What? Us? Why, what do you mean?"

"Just this: No one but the Heavenly council knows the facts behind this mystery but we cannot intervene with free will." explained Adam, "The people who reside in the village must know the  difference between the curse they fear and what someone is trying to keep hidden from prying eyes. That's why it's up to all of you to go there and reveal the truth."

"One second please," interrupted Jackie.

They all huddle together and discuss what they've just gotten themselves into.

"Now what?" questioned Inez.

"We can't get involved, what if the stories and facts ARE true?" Jackie asked worriedly, "We could all be risking our lives!"

"Basically we do the same thing in Cyberspace." Matt reminded her.

"Not much choice here kids," Mr. grumpy said with a resigned sigh, "The car's out, the communication's out too. So we're just going to have to hike over to town for help."

"Mr. Grumpy's right." Inez said to them, "We'd have to go into town anyways no matter what. But we could still do a little poking around, ask questions – that's all."

"I guess so." Mr. Bump said morosely.

They then turned back to try to talk to Adam.

"OK, so what's the first-" Matt started at first, but cut himself off when he saw that the man they'd been talking to was no longer there!

"W-where'd he go?" Jackie asked fearfully.

Mr. Bump gulped nervously. "Still think we'll get any help from town?"

Inez, trying to look determined, looked to her right and saw a hill then said to the group. "Let's find out."

And so the gang set out on their adventure.
Sneak preview to my upcoming fanmake based on a Mexican telenovela: "Mariana de la noche"

In a small mining town, the beautiful Ariel lives with her father, Aku, and aunts. However, she carries a “curse” or so the villagers claim: any man that dares to love her suffers an untimely death. Aku, the mine owner is a powerful and ruthless individual, who keeps a secret that tortures him: Ariel’s not his daughter and what he feels for her is far from paternal love.

The travel package contains love triangles, enigmatic shamans, and a mystery waiting to be solved. But when Ariel her true love find themselves in danger, can two Mr. men and the cybersquad find out the truth behind curse that follows ‘Ariel of the night’?

P.S. Adam is another angel of Death besides Andrew from the Touched by an angel series. Just in case you were all wondering.

YEEEEESSSSS I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS

...I'm kind of expecting Aku to pull a bit of Nathan Wallace angst over killing his love and lusting for his 'daughter', but he's more like Judge Turpin because he's a dick. |D~ And Ariel being all emo, too. just ashdfbagv. FUN
